The Challenge

Rowad Modern Engineering had grown into a leading regional construction and engineering player with operations across more than 10 geographies, yet revenue remained concentrated in Egypt and international expansion was largely reactive. Macroeconomic shocks exposed structural weaknesses, with USD equivalent revenues declining by nearly 50% due to currency exposure and rising import costs. Internally, inefficiencies across procurement, subcontractor management, and asset utilization, combined with a function led structure, limited accountability and execution control.

The Solution and Impact

We delivered a three phase transformation covering diagnostic, strategy design, and implementation. The strategy introduced over 100 initiatives across growth, cost optimization, organizational effectiveness, and technology enablement. This included market prioritization and pursuit governance to drive regional expansion, procurement and asset optimization to improve cost efficiency, a matrix structure to strengthen accountability, and system integration to enable real time performance visibility.

We also defined clear ownership structures across business units, introduced performance tracking mechanisms tied to project level profitability, and established governance cadences to ensure consistent execution. A centralized Strategy Office was embedded to drive delivery, monitor progress, and maintain accountability across all initiatives while supporting long term capability building within the organization.
