Mentorship Training Program for The Egypt Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (EEIC) at The American University in Cairo

The Challenge

The Egypt Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (EEIC) at The American University in Cairo required a structured and repeatable program to train mentors supporting early stage founders. Existing mentorship efforts were informal and inconsistent, with no standardized frameworks, learning materials, or governance cadence to ensure quality, alignment, or continuity across cohorts. This limited the center’s ability to scale its impact and maintain a consistent mentorship experience.

The Solution and Impact

We designed a 4-module training program covering the full mentorship lifecycle, supported by tailored learning booklets and delivered through expert facilitators. The program progressed from foundational mentorship principles to advanced founder support, ensuring consistency across cohorts.

We introduced a formal governance cadence through 4+ SteerCo sessions and conducted a full dry run prior to launch to refine content and delivery. All materials and structures were built for institutional ownership, enabling EEIC and AUC to independently deliver and scale the program. The final output included a complete project repository covering module designs, training materials, governance decks, facilitator guidelines, and key documentation.
